Physics Science Show
By Taylor Dinkel and
Madi Ginther
The Science Club in the 6th grade went
to FHSU Physics Department on Wednesday. The 6th graders, could
not imagine what special things we were going to see and do.
Have you ever seen a racket ball shatter
like glass? That’s one of the things we did with liquid
nitrogen. We also fit about fifteen balloons in the liquid
nitrogen container. In addition, we saw a Foucault’s Pendulum,
gyroscopes demonstrating angular momentum, a static electricity
generator, listened to a power point demonstration on careers in
Physics, used lasers to learn about diffraction, and we played
songs on tubes of various lengths to get high and low pitches.
“I had a great time and enjoyed these
experiments very much,” Melissa Pfeifer said. Everyone agreed
that this was an unforgettable experience. Who could imagine
Physics could be so interesting and amazing!
