Title: Thanksgiving Celebration
Author: Lori Flax
Holy Family Elementary recently celebrated
Thanksgiving with several special events. The day began
with a mass planned by Ms. Jennie Helget’s 3rd Grade class.
At the end of the mass, there was a special prayer time to give
thanks for our blessings and pray that we make good use of all
the blessings we have received.

Every classroom, kindergarten through 6th
grade presented their canned goods and items that they
collected. Every classroom had several bags/boxes to
donate. The items were taken to the Community Assistance
Center.

Lunchtime also gave the students more
reasons to be thankful. They were treated to a special
lunchtime feast including turkey and all the trimmings. Around
100 family members joined the students as they celebrated this
time of thanks.
- Thank you, Lord for the gift of my life. Help me to
live my life in a holy way.
- Thank you, Lord for the gift of freedom. Help me to
respect the rights of others.
- Thank you, Lord for the gift of my family. Help me to
treat my family with love and kindness.
- Thank you, Lord for the gift of food. Help me to
remember to give to others in need.
- Thank you, Lord for the gift service men and women who
defend our country. Help me to be willing to stand up for
what is right.
- Thank you, Lord for the gift of Catholic Education.
Help me to always stay close to you.
