Title: Regional Science Fair
By Melissa Pfeifer
Last Saturday, seven Holy Family
Elementary students participated in the 2nd annual FHSU
Regional Science Fair. In the end, they all walked away with
gold medals! It was very exciting for everyone, especially
since this was the first time Holy Family had taken part in
the fair.
The seven students formed three different
groups. Anna Speno, 4th grader, entered a project about
plants under the category of botany. Along with getting
gold, she also got the high honor of going on to state in Wichita on March 26th and
27th.
The other two groups, both in sixth grade,
had participated in the school fair at HFE earlier in
February. Laura Krug, Andrew Hess, and Madi Ginther, who did
a project on greenhouse gases in the environmental science
category, will also be representing Holy Family at state.
Melissa Pfeifer, Taylor Gabel, and Taylor
Dinkel participated in the engineering and inventions
category with a project on solar power. Their project,
however, fell just short of state.
All in all, everyone thought the science
fair was great and already can’t wait till next year!!
Good luck to those going to state!!
