Pro-life Essays
By Bridget Heimann

On Thursday, November 18, Donetta and Lester Robben from the Knights of Columbus came to our school to announce the winners for our pro-life essays. Everybody worked hard, but the top three winners were Megan Koeningsman, Joseph Whittmer, and Taryn Rupp. Megan was awarded third place for writing her opinion of Euthanasia. Joseph got second place for writing about how bad abortion can be. Last, but not least, was Taryn. She got first place for writing about abortion and how much of a miracle a baby can be. The top three winners got a special pro-life rosary and a little booklet telling about it. But because everyone participated and gave it a try, they all got a white wristband that said, “Choose life.” The three winners will get to enjoy the Knights of Columbus Christmas banquet with their families on December 12 and tell everybody their stories and opinions of pro-life.

These fifth grade classes are going to give these children a Christmas they will never forget. Also remember: a little something special can go a long ways.
