A Little Something Special
By Megan Koenigsman and Maci Gerhard
Mrs. Stoecklein’s fifth grade religion classes made and
filled boxes to give to the organization, Samaritan’s Purse.
For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done their utmost
to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the
world’s sick, poor, and suffering. They impact the lives of
the vulnerable children through education, food, clothing,
and shelter that lets them know they are not forgotten. The
boxes are going to families in Africa, Haiti, villages in
Mexico, and other places where people are in need. The boxes
contain hygiene items like soap, toothbrushes, and
toothpaste. They also include school supplies like pens,
pencils, and crayons. There are toys like balls, dolls, and
stuffed animals. The children will love the hard candy,
lollipops, sunglasses, and a personal note. Fifth grade
student Luke Ruder said he was having a great time and that
it was a lot of fun to assemble the boxes.
These fifth grade classes are going to give these
children a Christmas they will never forget. Also remember:
a little something special can go a long ways.
