Blast Off to Catholic
Schools Week By Raegan Billinger and Carmen Brull
On Monday, January 31st, Holy Family Elementary kicked
off Catholic Schools Week with a prayer service to show how
much we appreciate God and our Catholic schools for all they
do for us.
Later that afternoon, the school
gathered in the auditorium for a sock hop. The students were
jumping around, dancing, and singing along to the 60’s music
selected by the teachers. Teachers, such as Mrs. Stoecklein,
Mrs. Washburn, Mrs. Bieker, and Mrs. Kim Simon, were decked
out in Harley Davidson gear, riding scooters and mini mopeds
around the auditorium. After a while of dancing, the 6th
grade students sang the chorus of the song, “The Time” by
the Black-Eyed Peas. Everybody left dancing and singing back
to their classrooms in happy spirits. It was a fantastic way
to kick off Catholic Schools Week.
