HFE Fifth Graders Win Top Honors

 On Feb. 26, 2011, three 5th graders competed in the Fort Hays State Regional Science and Engineering Fair. The contestants and their projects were:

• Erin Muirhead won a silver medal for her entry, “What Do Plants Like to Eat?”

• Peter Rice won a silver medal with his entry, “Thermal Energy.”

• Anna Speno won a gold medal with her entry, “Hands Off!”

 They are all eligible to compete in the State Science and Engineering Fair in Wichita on April 1st and 2nd. However, because the girls have other commitments, only Peter Rice will present his project. We wish him the best of luck!
