Another Great Concert
By: Deonna Wellbrock

We have had many great years at our concerts, but this year was the most superb, loud and action-packed year!  In all the 7 years I have been at Holy Family Elementary this was the best!

We started off with the 6th grade band!  We have worked very hard on our 5 songs!  ‘Barbara Ann’, ‘What a Wonderful World,’ and ‘Zip Drive’ are the 3 songs that we only had 2 weeks to work on, but ‘Quick Silver Overture’ and ‘Billboard March’ we had worked on since February 14th.  When Mrs. Amrein took us to a band competition, we received a 1 rating on these songs!

Mrs. Kaiser has worked very hard on the actions, 6th grade speeches, and of course, the singing!  We sang “Destination,’ ‘America,’ ‘Hitsville U.S.A.’, (That’s Why) ‘They Call It Country,’ ‘All Aboard for Broadway,’ and ‘It’s as American as Rock ’n’ Roll.’  4th, 5th and 6th grades worked extremely hard on putting this show on, but especially the teachers for letting us have the time to practice.

We couldn’t have done this without the director, Bernice Kaiser, speakers, all of 6th grade and of course 4th, 5th and 6th grades for singing!  We all did this for Ms. Huser. Without her, we wouldn’t even know how to hit the high notes, play on any instrument, or sing together!  As she used to say, “Sing as a family, a true Holy Family”!
