On Monday, April 18th Holy Family Elementary had their annual Race for Education. This fundraiser was a huge success and earned our school much-needed money. The Race For Education was supposed to be on April 15th, but due to bad weather the school decided to postpone it to the following Monday.

Tina Vitztum and Kelly Schibi put a lot of hard work into this event. They had been preparing for it since February, when they started getting names and addresses for the students to do Race for Education. This took a lot of work and time from Tina and Kelly. Our school is very fortunate to have them be at the school nearly every day to help with this fundraiser.

Finally, the day came for Race for Education. Preschool, kindergarten and first grade lined up at 9:00 to start their run or walk till 10:00 a.m. Second, fourth and sixth graders raced from 10:15 to 11:15, and third and fifth went from 12:30 to 1:30.

Many parents volunteered to stamp the students cards at the end of each lap, and many came to watch the kids or race with them. Overall, the Race for Education fundraiser was a great, enjoyable time.
