We had wonderful visits from two of our KP parents this week.  On Wednesday, Jace's parents, Dan and Melissa Windholz, shared their "jobs" with us.  Both are emplyed at Black Diamond Oil.  Melissa is a bookkeeper for the business, entering data on the computer.  She was amazing in her presentation, playing a color and location graphing game with the children to show a table of information.  Their "reward" was an Angry Birds keychain.......a huge hit with the kids!  Dan is a production pumper with Black Diamond and shared photos with the chidren of an oil well and pipe heading waaaaaaaay down into the earth.  He also brought a container of oil and explained to the children how the oil settles on top of water.  Several of the boys got to try on his work gloves and attempted to lift his VERY heavy 3-foot pipe wrench!!

 

On Thursday Jacob's parents, Mark and Angie Pahls, came to visit the KP classroom.  Angie is the Art instuctor at TMP-Marian and shared with the children a ceramic piece and different types of media used to create art work.  The brush, oil pastel crayon and water color are all compliments of Angie, along with the canvas bags that the children toted their Kinder Prep books home in.  Mark is an instructor at the technical college, teaching math to students who are studying housing constuction.  Mark showed the children wiring and tubing that is used when building a home. 

 

A BIG "thank you" to all of you for visiting our classroom throughout the year.  We learned of some very interesting occupations and your child was so proud to have you come to KP!
