Organization: The committee consists of volunteers who are interested in general construction and maintenance projects. This committee reports to the School Principal.
Responsibilities: The purpose of this sub-committee to support the janitorial staff with large projects, such as painting, floor cleaning, moving furniture, etc...
Building Planning & Space Renovation

Committee: Members are appointed by Father Kevin Weber.
Organization: The committee consists of members with specialized skills in construction and building code. This committee reports to the School Advisory Executive Council.
Responsibilities: The purpose of this sub-committee to is to plan and develop recommendations for future building expansion and renovation, (including the old IHM worship space).

Uniform | Dress Code Committee

Responsibilities: The Uniform Committee provides recommendations to the School Administrator on any uniform or dress code policy updates or changes. All changes must be approved by the School Administrator.
Playground Committee

Organization: The committee consists of volunteer parents. The committee reports to the School Advisory Executive Council.
Responsibilities: Ensure that the HFE/IHM playground facilities are up to code, oversee equipment inspections, recommend improvements, and assists in the handling of safety and security concerns related to the playground. Members are contacted on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities: Promote the collection of Box Tops for Education, Campbell’s product labels and Tyson Labels for Education. All box tops and labels may be sent to school with a student or given directly to the school office.

Responsibilities: Manage all booster club funds raised by the Home & School Association.
SWIPE Point-of-Sale Program

Responsibilities: The SWIPE program is a credit card point-of-sale program that generates revenue for teacher bonuses. This program is operated by Galen Romme.

Lead Parent Program

danaschumacher@hotmail.comResponsibilities: The primary purpose of a lead parent, is to act as a communication officer and organize parent volunteer support. In particular, the lead parent will work closely with their respective classroom teacher to coordinate parent volunteer support for classroom activities, field trips, testing, and tasks that will benefit the classrooms by providing resources, material and a “helping hand”.. The lead parent will have access to the classroom listserv, and be given a list of telephone numbers for their respective classroom.

Organization: The committee consists of members of the School Advisory Council and Home and School Committee. The Co-Chairs work directly with the HFE Principal and office staff.
Responsibilities: This committee works in conjunction with all other school committees, administration, and office staff. The committee’s priorities are to improve communication between the school and parents and the school and the community. Committee members assist with advertising, brochures, newsletters, newspaper advertisements, and organize information for Catholic Schools Week, Chili Supper, Red Wheel Pizza Sales and other special events for students. All public communication must be approved by the School Principal.
School Yearbook

Organization: The committee consists of parent volunteers.
Responsibilities: The committee members will periodically take pictures of students in the classroom and at school sponsored events and field trips. The committee will produce a school yearbook, and also work in conjunction with the website sub-committee in an effort to promote school events and activities.

Responsibilities: The committee’s purpose is to support and assist faculty in helping students overcome academic challenges they face in the classroom. The committee works in conjunction and collaborates with faculty members in an effort to provide the best academic environment and opportunities for student learning.

Responsibilities: Compiling the questions or word lists, and conducting the actual bees.
Liturgical Planning

Responsibilities: Prepares the class liturgical celebration schedule, and assists with the coordination of special celebrations, (i.e.: Thanksgiving, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Ash Wednesday, Father's and Mother's Mass).
Mary's Baby Shower

Responsibilities: Chairpersons prepare and send out invitation for Mary’s Baby Shower benefiting Birthright of Hays. Coordinate cake, punch, decorations, and set-up the day of the shower. Contact volunteers to serve at the shower, and oversee clean-up and delivery of gifts to Birthright.

Organization: The chairpersons are appointed by the School
Administrator. The committee consists of HFE faculty members.
Responsibilities: Promote health education, physical education,
nutrition services, and ensuring a healthy school environment. Work
in conjunction with the principal, food services, and physical
education coordinator to ensure school health and wellness. This
would include adopting a school wellness policy, and promotion of
programs to create a healthier school environment.
NCA Steering Committee

Organization: The chairperson is appointed by the School Administrator. The committee consists of members of HFE faculty.
Responsibilities: The committee finalized NCA Accreditation in 2008. The committee will continue to review the accreditation criteria and recommend activities that should be undertaken.
Professional Development Council

Responsibilities: The Professional Development Committee reviews the professional development needs of the school faculty, recommends new initiatives, and monitors the ongoing local advancement opportunities.
School Curriculum Mapping

Responsibilities: Establish educational goals for Holy Family Elementary, consistent with the requirements of the Salina Diocese, the law, and the statewide goals and standards established by the Board of Education. Provide insight and advice on major adoptions or revisions of curriculum and textbooks. Establish and periodically review educational goals for Holy Family Elementary. Work to develop a comprehensive text book replacement plan and provide recommendations to the policy/bylaws committee on school curriculum policies.

Responsibilities: The chairperson plans, coordinates, and oversees
the annual Chili Supper. In addition, they contact and coordinate
volunteer support. Volunteers help with the event, including baking
desserts, preparing and serving the meal, and assisting with clean
up, games, and other activities. The Chili Supper is always
scheduled on Sunday at the beginning of
Catholic Schools Week.
Race for Education

The Home & School Executive treasurer collects all proceeds, and the gifts are distributed by the School Administrator at the Christmas Appreciation Dinner.

New Student Orientation Committee

Responsibilities: This committee will consist of parent volunteers. They will plan an orientation meeting focused on incoming Preschool children, Pre-K children, Kindergarten children and their parents in order to answer questions, go over yearly events, and provide support to make the transition into being actively involved in school. Families with older children who are new to our school will also be invited. This committee will be available to answer questions and provide assistance throughout the year.

Bully Prevention

Responsibilities: The bully prevention program is a universal intervention for the reduction and prevention of school bullying problems. The main arena for the program is within the school, and school staff and upper grade have the task of implementing the program.
Catholic Schools Week

Organization: The committee consists of HFE faculty members.
Responsibilities: The committee is responsible for planning, promoting, and advertising catholic school week activities and special celebrations.
Dominic Savio Club

Organization: The club consists of students in the 6th grade.
Responsibilities: Dominic Savio is a service/spiritual club designed to enhance the 6th grade religious education program. Its members will operate a concession stand three times a month for the purpose of dispersing the profits to the poor and worthy organizations. Additionally, four additional fundraisers are conducted throughout the year. The 4th week students will conduct a Savio meeting and do a service project such as visiting the elderly or helping with Tiger Tots.
Homecoming Float Committee
