Fifteen Thomas More Prep-Marian Entrepreneurship students will participate in the Ellis County Youth Entrepreneurial Challenge at the Robbins Center on the campus of Fort Hays State University on Wednesday, November 13th. The YEC is hosted by Grow Hays and it offers an opportunity for students to develop written and oral communication skills, learn introductory business concepts and use higher-order thinking skills and problem-solving. Students had to create their own business plan, executive summary, financial projections, web-site, and oral presentations. The students have all been working hard and will have an opportunity to practice their YEC presentation on Thursday, November 7th in the TMP-M HS cafeteria to students and staff. The actual competition is open to the public and will start at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, November 13th. Good luck to all our Entrepreneurship students.

Come join us next week at the TMP-M vs. HHS staff volleyball game! This year the game will be held at HHS and all donations will go to DSNWK. We are also hosting a competition between TMP and HHS to see which school can donate the most canned goods. Donations can be brought to room 109 this week or to the game next week. Let's go TMP!!

6th grade social studies went from trying out cave drawings from the Stone Age to learning Cuneiform from Ancient Mesopotamia!

7th grade enrichment has been learning about Dia De Los Muertos and they finished the week by learning how to make a papel picado. They turned out great!

The 6th graders took a pilgrimage to Wichita on Wednesday, Oct. 16 to visit the tomb of Servant of God, Fr. Emil Kapaun and to visit the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Motherhouse in Colwich. The students prepared for this trip by learning about Fr. Kapaun and his heroic life in the POW camp during the Korean War. At the Motherhouse, the students ate a picnic lunch, played around on the property, and learned more about the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima . They also got to meet Trudy, the Sister's convent dog.

The Monarch HS and JH Cheer squads rolled out our new mats yesterday for a combined practice! (Thanks again to the amazing people in the TMP Sports Booster club for purchasing these mats) We are currently preparing for the Cheer Showcase that TMP hosts on November 9th. Please mark it on your calendars to join us in cheering on these remarkable girls! We now have over 15 squads from around Midwest Kansas that have signed up! Should be an incredible event!
